Camp Columbus

When summer time rolls around...

...our day camp is a great place for children and adults to play, learn, and make friends. Beginning in July, we offer five week-long sessions of day activities at Camp Columbus on beautiful Owasco Lake in Auburn.

More than 6 acres of groomed terrain make up the major portion of Camp Columbus, where there is plenty of room for baseball and other field sports. The upper campground is set 400 feet from the road and features a cafeteria, an arts & crafts building, two sports fields, and a playground with a fully accessible wheelchair swing. Music and drama classes are held in the former chapel, which has been renovated.

No matter what the camper's ability, they will be able to join in the water activities: Camp is equipped with an Incline Lift System to transport wheelchairs to the supporting ramp and dock below where all campers can enjoy the lake.

Our highly-qualified and professionally-trained staff provide a safe and nurturing environment where campers experience fun and enriching activities. Each of the five week-long sessions is staffed with a director, registered nurse, certified lifeguards and dedicated, experienced counselors.

All activities are adapted to the age and ability of each person in order to ensure maximum participation by all campers. Activities include swimming with certified lifeguard, physical activities, fishing, story & drama, dance & music, and arts & crafts. Cost is $140 per week. Financial assistance may be available.
